The main character within our Thriller is a 25 year old Mother Named Betty smith Who is drived by the Ambition to seek reveange for her five year old daughter who was killed by careless drunken teenagers During a Hit and Run car inccident. we feel as if our character can be most compared to Uma Thurmans' Beatrix Kiddo a.k.a The Bride within the film Kill Bill. These characters have many similarities but also some very crucial key differences.
Both Betty and Beatrix are young women in their late 20's although they do have quite different physical appearances, Betty having long dark hair with Beatrix's being blonde. Another difference is that in Kill Bill, Beatrix wears a trademark yellow and black tracksuit, suited for combat and always carries a sword. Betty Smith from our film is wearing casual clothing which is black in colour, which we chose to symbolise the death and destruction of our plot.
In Kill Bill, a main part of the plot surrounds Beatrix exacting her revenge on the people she believes were involved in not only attempting to kill her but doing so while she was pregnant, leading her to believe her unborn daughter is dead. This is very similar to the plot of our film, with Betty exacting her revenge on the people who killed her daughter in a hit and run crash. This shows how similar our characters are, both of them commiting serious acts of violence in the name of vengence for their children, although, in Kill Bill, Beatrix is very heavily invovlved in a life of violence already, once being a member of an assassination squad named The Deadly Vipers and also having been trained by a kung fu master for years in preperation for a life as an assassinator.
